CES 2007: Samsung Plasma Goes 1080p

Top-of-the-line 58-inch set provides better contrast, will retail for $5k.

Samsung Electronics has upgraded its plasma HDTV technology for 2007 with new image-enhancing technologies and added new models to satisfy the growing demand for sets with 1080p resolutions.

Using FilterBright2 and FilterBright2 Plus technologies, Samsung promises its new line of plasma televisions will not only produce sharper images but also greater contrast ratio for vastly improved daytime viewing.
