Gears: 2.7M Sold, Patch Notes, Free Maps

Gears of War continues to be the belle of the ball. Microsoft is taking you out, parading you around, and pointing to you the hit games of the fall. According to Robbie Bach, president of entertainment and devices and division at Microsoft, GoW has cleared 2.7 million copies sold mark in eight weeks. Guess that "Mad World" ad really did the trick.Bach also talked about the future of Gears, stating: "That title is now a Halo-like franchise that continues to drive hardware in a very positive way. We think it is an evergreen platform that we can continue to leverage for a long, long time." Gears of War 2 and 3 confirmed.
